Model: CPE510
Hardware Version:
Firmware Version:

I need help creating a wireless network for my caravan.

My plan was to use 2x CPE510. One hooked up via ethernet to the main router which will transmit to another one located above a caravan. This in turn will be connected via ethernet to an Access Point in the caravan ( in this case a TL-WA901N )

So Router > CPE #1 > CPE #2 > Access Point

I have tried setting one up as an Access point and the other as a Client but this doesn't seem to work - can't get internet? What mode should I use? Any information or how to videos would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance

@Fae

Thanks for your reply Fae.

In the end, my issue was that I had maxstream enabled and so I was unable to connect to the WiFi.

Dear @martyw96,

I have tried setting one up as an Access point and the other as a Client but this doesn't seem to work - can't get internet? What mode should I use?

The setup should be like this:

Router -------- CPE #1 as Access Point mode )))((( CPE #2 as Client mode -------TL-WA901N as AP in the caravan.

Note: "-------- " refers to an Ethernet connection, ")))(((" refers to wireless connection.

Configuration guide:

How to Configure the Access Point Mode on the Pharos device?

How to Configure the Client Mode on the Pharos device?

The Pharos CPEs use the same 192.168.0.254 IP in default settings. To avoid IP conflict, remember to change the LAN IP and use different IP addresses on the two CPEs. For example, if the Router's LAN IP is 192.168.0.1/24, you can set CPE #1 with 192.168.0.254/24, CPE #2 with 192.168.0.253/24.

If you cannot get the Internet through the setup above, please try referring to the guide below to troubleshoot.

How can I set up the AP + Client topology successfully?

Do write back with detailed info if you still have trouble. We'll be glad to assist you.

Dear @martyw96,

In the end, my issue was that I had maxstream enabled and so I was unable to connect to the WiFi.

Thank you for your feedback. That makes sense.

MAXtream is only available on Pharos devices. Other wireless devices will not be able to connect to a Pharos device with MAXtream enabled. When a non-Pharos wireless device needs to connect to the CPE's Wi-Fi, DO NOT enable the MAXtream on the CPE (MAXtream is disabled by default).
