TL-SG1005P V2 Release date?
Hi
I've been looking at small PoE switches for a project and have gradually managed to narrow it down to a few models.
Requirements are:
10/100/1000
Unmanaged
PoE 802.3af
5 ports is enough
So the models I am looking at are TL-SG1005LP and TL-SG1005P. As far as I can tell the differences between these two are LP is 802.3af/at but limited power budget of 40w max and the P is 802.3af only but total power budget of 56W. Then I noticed that the TP Link site has TL-SG1005P V2 model advertised as "Coming Soon" which will offer 802.3af/at and be capable of supplying 65W total PoE.
For my current needs 802.3af is sufficient and there will only likely be one or two PoE devices plugged into each switch, drawing about 8W each. However, it would be nice to allow for future expansion both in terms of more devices and more powerful devices, so the higher 65W total power and 30W per port 802.3at provided by the TL-SG1005P V2 would be a nice combination.
I have three questions...
1. Does anyone have a more accurate timescale than "Coming Soon" as to when the V2 will be available to buy? Best clue I can find is a listing on Amazon that states "usually dispatched within 1 to 2 months" which is still a bit vague.
2. Will the price of the V2 be about the same as the V1? (I am in the UK where prices for TL-1005P V1 and TL-1005LP are pretty much the same)
3. Are there actually any differences between these three models other than what I have mentioned above?
Thanks in advance for your help :)
