Intermintant issues with TL-SG1005D Ver 5

Bought this at Canada Computers and it says Ver 5 .
I have a Linksys E4200 Router
Two issues
the gig indicator light does not show a connection at 1000 between the TL-SG1005D and the E4200
when there's a windows security reboot the connection is not re-established to the router and the problem is fixed with windows 7 troubleshooter
is there a firmware upgrade for this unit or a suggestion to fix my issues???
