Model: TL-SG3428MP
Hardware Version: V3
Firmware Version: 3.0.1 Build 20210712 Rel.40355

hi!

I have aTL-SG3428MP managed over an OC200 Controller.

For Port 4 on this switch I have set the following limits:

Egress Rate Limit: 120Mbps

Ingress Rate Limit: 5 Mbps

I tested this with a laptop connected to the port 4 and made a speed test.

Without limits set:

Download: 200 Mbps
Upload: 20 Mbps

That's fine, because that is the bandwith from my ISP.

With limits set:

Download: 118 Mbps
Upload: 2,3 Mbps

With limits set and ingress rate changed to 10 Mbps:

Download: 118 Mbps
Upload: 2,5 Mbps

With limits set but ingress rate removed:

Download: 118 Mbps
Upload: 20 Mbps

Do I understand this limits wrong or is there a bug in the firmware?
I want to have 5 Mbps Upload (ingress) for this port and thought this would be the right setting!?

Regards
Alex

  @AlexZ707
Did you run the iperf to test if the rules are effective or not?

Maybe this way can help you. You can use the ACL rate limit. Create an ACL entry(whatever the type), add an ACL rule, enable the rate limit policy, and set the rate.

To sum up, use ACL rate limit for the upload speed limit, and QoS bandwidth control for the download speed limit.
