IPv6 over L2TP

I was wondering if anyone could point me in the right direction.
The setup at the moment is: 4G modem <> Router <> VPN Router <> Clients
The above setup works and I am able to use the VPN router to get a IPv4 address, but it refuses to grab a IPv6 one using that VPN, is it something I have not setup or is this a limitation of the VPN router?
On my old router I would just have to run the dhcpv6 client and it would grab one from the L2TP VPN.
