Model: ER605 (TL-R605)
Hardware Version: V2
Firmware Version: 2.0.0 Build 20220106 Rel.56391

Hello everyone,

I just bought an ER605 for my SOHO. We want to use an LTE USB stick for fallback internet connection, which was one of the main reasons I bought the ER605.

I inserted the SIM card into our Huawei 3372h, plugged it into a notebook and set everything up (PIN, connection details). I then swapped the Huawei into the ER605, set all the configs (mainly in network -> USB). Here, it says:

  • USB Modem: identify successfully
  • config auto
  • connect automatically: true

Below, it says: "Connected (tick)"

When I go to transmission, Online Detection, I see:

  1. WAN / Online
  2. USB Modem / offline

I tried the diagnostics (ping -> google.com), which resulted in a request timeout (as excepted from the previous results).

The USB LED is "on" on the ER605, which according to the LED Explanation means "Connecting to a USB device".

Now, I'm at a loss what's wrong. I actually tried two different SIM cards from two different mobile companies (o2 + t mobile), both without success on the ER605 but successfully on my computer.

Maybe someone here has an idea what might be going on?

Thanks a lot in advance,

Achim

  @Momro  Are you sure that your LTE modem is supported ? I do not see E3372h on the list:

https://www.tp-link.com/en/er605/compatibility/

I tried my ER605 v.2 with Huawei E3276s-150 and it did not work either. Then I bought E3372 ( not E3372h ) and this USB LTE modem works fine for me.

Also check my other post about WAN failover config bug:

https://community.tp-link.com/en/business/forum/topic/595572

I got the failover working as described in my other post, both with fw. 2.0.1 and with new firmware 2.1.

  @Smok, thanks for your reply!

The h-version is the ordinary one. I have read, deep down the Internet, that the s-version is Rarely available, but allows direct access to the modem.

I'll read your other post, though, and come back soon!

  @Smok

Could you please provide detailed model of E3372 which works for you. I have new model E3371-325 and it doesn't work for me.
