Hardware Version: V5
Firmware Version: 1.14.7 Build 20221206 Rel.60706

Network consisting of 16 TP-Link switches and 50 access points suddenly lost connection, switches went to adopting state one by one with failover IP and were unable to reconnect until router and controller were restarted. Also in Wired networks under LAN tab, there was an error saying {LANNETWORK.NO_WAN_TIP} but the router showed connection to internet. Under statistics tab, on router there was a peak of 31 connected clients right before and during the loss of connection. Otherwise there were only 1 or 2 clients connected to the router. Clound and local management was working and controller was online.

Clients on router right before and during loss of connection - what could cause this?

  @kolas

You probably want to link the controller/devices to a syslog server.  So you get a better error message from the logs.

When the whole switch drops, my 1st thought goes to STP.  STP maybe firing off and blinking the ports.

I can not teach anyone anything - I can only make them think - Socrates

  @KimcheeGUN looks like the first thing what happens is that it stops giving IP addresses through wifi then LAN drops and then switches go to adopting state, maybe a problem with gateway? But we will check loop protection as well.

  @kolas

Also check your Router Memory stats, wondering if this is a similar problem to the one I'm chasing on the ER605 builds.

Hi @kolas

On your log is there any thing looks like "xxxx port Gi1/0/x blocked"?

If so, there could be a loop on the network, and switch's loop detection took effect.
