Hardware Version: V2
Firmware Version: 2.0.0 Build 20220106 Rel.56391

Hello everyone,

We configured PPTP VPN Server on ER605 router. We have only 1 WAN connection with static public IP address on it. Details are as follow:

LAN IP: 192.168.0.1/-24

DHCP: 192.168.0.101 to 192.168.0.150

VPN IP Pool: POOL1--> 192.168.0.231 to 192.168.0.235

PPTP Server: WAN --> WAN  |    MPPE Encryption --> Unencrypted   |   Enabled--> Yes

Users:  user1 | Protocol--> PPTP | Local IP --> 10.0.0.2  | IP Pool --> POOL1 | DNS --> 8.8.8.8 |  Network mode--> Client to LAN | Max connections --> 5

            user2 | Protocol--> PPTP | Local IP --> 10.0.0.3  | IP Pool --> POOL1 | DNS --> 8.8.8.8 |  Network mode--> Client to LAN | Max connections --> 5

            user3 | Protocol--> PPTP | Local IP --> 10.0.0.4  | IP Pool --> POOL1 | DNS --> 8.8.8.8 |  Network mode--> Client to LAN | Max connections --> 5

We use Windows built-in VPN dialer to connect to VPN server. First user --  user1 got connected to VPN server and got the IP address 192.168.0.231.

But when we tried to connect other user(s), we got an error "The PPP link protocol was terminated".

Am I missing something in VPN client configurations? We have Windows 10 & Windows 11 on our computers.

Please guide and help.

UPDATE: I also just checked that I can login with only 1 user. When I tried to connect with another VPN user, it gives an error.

I also checked the logs and found "WAN: Can not get remote ip for peer: terminating link! " when attempting login with second user.

Regards,

Sagar Patel

Hi, suggest not setting the VPN IP pool only between 192.168.0.231 to 192.168.0.235, because setting up a VPN also requires several virtual IPs in which to communicate with each other to establish relationships. Try setting the IP pool larger like 192.168.0.231-192.168.0.250.

Just striving to develop myself while helping others.
