Firmware Version:

I have a site with various buildings and am using wireless meshing with the Omada system for some of the buildings. It is a summer camp, so mainly used during the summer.

I installed the system a year ago and got good performance on the wireless link. However, this year it seems to struggle.

The connection speed of the AP which is wirelessly connected is about 75m away. The TX speed is good, 576Mbps, but the RX speed is only 6Mbps. A sppedtest run on the base unit gives 250+ Mbps, but I can only get 2 Mbps at the wireless station. The signal strength is -66 dBm, which is not high, but should give a bit more than 2 Mbps, especially as it performed well last year.

There is a clear line of sight. I actually moved the AP a meter or two as there was a tree near the line of sight, but not blocking it, and now it is at least 1.5m clear.

What could I do to diagnose the issue, or what settings could I play with to see if I can improve it?

Thanks for the help!

Update:

I turned off the 2.4 GHz band on the host station and now I get 70+ MBs on speedtest.net and Tx  of 576Mbps and Rx of 576Mbps.

Not sure why that made such a difference, but it is perfect now again.

  @LDOP

In general, you can greatly improve the mesh performance by keeping users off the 5.8G channel of the root nodes (wired APs in the mesh), and if there are a lot of users, then kill the 2.4G as well if you can.  Glad you were able to find a combination that worked to resolve your issues.
