Hi forum.

I'm in despair setting up the Router to connect to an OpenVpn Server.

I'm assuming theres something wrong with the .ovpn file but since the lag of log files for vpn its impossible to diagnose.

dev tun
persist-tun
persist-key
cipher AES-256-GCM
client
resolv-retry infinite
proto udp
remote server-url port udp4
comp-lzo yes
verb 3
nobind
key-direction 1

Is there anything obviously wrong that i'm missing?

Any help appreciated.

Edit: I tried the configuration in the openvpn client and it just works fine.

  @dekra

cipher AES-256-GCM is not supported by tp-link, ref. this tread.

actually tp-link only supports old OpenVPN version 2.4 or older that I know of

AES-256-CBC also didn't work the GCM was "leftover" from fiddling around. I assume that the Server is a newer Version then.

Is there an wa to get the version of the Server out of the OpenVpn Client logs? Because i dont have access to the Server and settings there cannot be changed.
