Hi,

I have two CPE510s, one is set in AP mode and connected to the internet by router, another is set to client mode and is connected to WR840N set up as access point.

I connect my devices wirelessly to WR840N and it works fine for a few days but then it fails and says it has no internet connection.

CPE510 connected to WR840N has ip address 192.168.2.100 and WR840N ip address is set to 192.168.0.1.

I guess there is a problem with DHCP.
Searching the forum, I found this:
"If you connect the CPE running in client mode to the WR840N, you just bridged your WR840N LAN with the CPE's WLAN which makes not much sense if the second CPE runs in AP router mode."
But I do not understand it completely. Should I give another ip address to my WR840N? I have DHCP enabled on it.
Does anyone know what is the answer to my problem?

Running the WR840N in AP mode, no set the DHCP on it, the front-end internet router will assign a IP to it.

It is in AP mode, but the DHCP is ON, I will switch it off, but to do so, I have to assign it a static IP address, can it be 192.168.0.1, as the client's CPE510 IP connected to WR840 is 192.168.2.100? And what should be default gateway and DNS server?

Thank you so much for the answer!

What is the subnet on the front router before the AP CPE? Set the same as it, and the default gateway should be front router's ip. If you set the WR840N as Dynamic ip, the ip and dns will be obtained auto from the router.

Subnet of the front router is 255.255.255.0 and it has DHCP pool from 192.168.0.10 to 192.168.0.254.
I set AP CPE to 192.168.2.200, client CPE to 192.168.2.201 and WR840N AP to 192.168.2.202, switched off DHCP and put default gateway to 192.168.0.1 and subnet to 255.255.255.0

Hopefuly this will work...

Set the AP CPE to 192.168.0.5, client CPE to 192.168.6 and WR840N AP to 192.168.0.7, put them in the same subnet.
