I've just installed latest firmware for ER8411 (1.2.0 Build 20231214 Rel.77035) and I'm surprised I still can't use IDS/IPS in network security (OC200 with firmware 1.19.3 Build 20230906 Rel.38429, controller version 5.12.9). It says firmware fully adopted to controller 5.13 and IDS/IPS is supported since 5.12.9. Is there any reason why ER8411 (current flagship of Omada routers) doesn't support IDS/IPS?

DPI was just added to it a little bit ago.

I don't know why but it should come and please wait patiently. For any feature queries, I cannot provide you with an ETA.
If this feature is supposed to be on this model, the dev will get you there.
You can check out the pinned thread. Or it may come out with the next beta.
BTW, I suggest you change your title. The new guideline requires a clear title with model, feature, and content. Your thread is confusing when people search it.

I just thought ER8411 as a current flagship would get new features in first wave and not after other less powerful models. Anyway, I must say I really like IDS/IPS and DPI on my ER7206 on other site and I hope ER8411 will get IDS/IPS really soon.

Usually, we have this circle, beta > release > beta > release. So, the ER8411 just released the official firmware. It would not be long to have its beta where you can get it working.

1. There is no guarantee for a firmware update or a specific timeline.
2. DPI is available on its latest firmware. IDS/IPS, IMO, would be available for it. But same again, not a guarantee. It depends on how team decides.
3. IDS/IPS would take a serious toll on the Internet speed. Just FYI.
4. The dev is not back until Feb 18th. So I have zero information to share during this period.

My ER8411 is in 1.2.0 version.
I thought that only the 5.13.x version of the controller was missing to have access to this functionality.
But nothing after the upgrade

Now my ER8411 is in 1.2.1 and my oc300 controller is in 1.13.30.20, but still no IDS/IPS parameter in omada. Normal?
