Model: TL-SG105PE
Hardware Version: V2
Firmware Version:

I am very new to VLANs.

I have a modem/router, a Raspberry Pi and the TP-Link switch.

I want the internet on VLAN 1 that goes to the first ethernet port on the Raspberry Pi that runs a DNS server and a webserver.

A second ethernet port on the Raspberry Pi goes to VLAN 2 that should have my internal network. The internal network should have access to the internet (of course).

The internet should pass through the Raspberry Pi (DNS server)

I'm confused about how I need to set those two VLAN ports that connect to the Raspberry Pi. How do I make them talk together (I guess?).

I'm confused about what I should tag and untag and what is this PVID?

Can somebody please help me? I'm not good at VLAN and managed switches it seems :-(

Thank you,

Ellen

Hi @Elleb

Thanks for posting in our business forum.

It does not in that way. You cannot make them talk to each other. This switch you have is 802.1Q VLAN and you should do some homework on the 802.1Q VLAN and VLAN interfaces.

802.1Q VLAN is for isolation and you can read the threads from the community. This question has been answered and explained. You did not seem to read anything yet.

The idea is not possible so the rest of the questions don't matter.
