Firmware Version: 1.3.0

Hi,

 

One of my customers report ER605 with firmware 1.3.0 lost it's adoption.

Device status in omada is shown as 'ADOPT FAILED' after trying to adopt it reports:


'The username and password for this gateway have been changed. The Omada Controller cannot adopt it automatically. Please enter the current username and password of the device.'

after entering password and login:
' Failed to adopt the device because the username or password is incorrect. '

However if you try login directly to router http addres - it accepts above pasword and allow login. After login there is no much to do since device report as 'Managed by Omada Controller'.

Also tried use admin/admin as login/password but also without luck.


Now i'm stuck, router is working and network is working however there is no access to router at all.

 

I think to restart it first manually then - when it will fail - reset device to default (from itself not from omada) and then adopt - is it good aproach ? Will it restore settings from omada controller ?

Thanks for posting in our business forum.

1. You should try to reboot the controller. If he did not change anything on the controller(Device Account) or anything recently, just upgraded to the 1.3.0 firmware and it does not allow adoption, you reboot both of them. See if that can recover to normal.

 

2. You can reset the router. Don't reset the controller and you'll lose all the config. Reset the router and readopt, the config will sync to the router again.

 

About your login to the router from the web, do you have a screenshot? Able to log in successfully?

The username and password should not be auto-filled when you adopt the router from the controller.

After controler reboot (this is software controller) still i have:


Nothing was upgraded since this 180 days, anyway - waiting for local people to phisically restart it after busines hour.

 

[UPDATE]

It finally turned back to controller after phisically restart, without typing password or any other additional actions.

In my case it was 169 days online.
Seems to be a "f ck them" problem?

At this moment -> The powercycle awnser is not a solution because i see this "solution" every update.

How is a remote reboot without a powercycle even possible when a device is not privisionized anymore after a update?
Getting a bit frustrated now. 
 

Please think about this SDN product before you buy this. 
It really bumbs my grinds
