Model: SG2008P
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: 1.0.8

I have a site that has a SG2008p as the main switch and would like to replace it with a SG2210MP. Is there an easy was to transfer settings with limited downtime? Looking around the settings it looks like the is a copy config from other device on network option. Would that do it?

We are needing to add a fiber run to the other end if building. So wanted to go with a cleaner option instead of adding a separate fiber converter.

We already have 1 fiber run and fiber converter.

Network:
Modem -> ER605 -> SG2008p (with OC200)-> Other switches and EAPs

Using VLANs and ACLs. It is a simple setup.

Hi @WigTech

Thanks for posting in our business forum.

Adopt the new switch to the controller and configure it. When it is done, use some devices to test if it is ready. If it is ready, then enter the downtime and move the wires to this new switch.
The switch setup is basically the same unless you have set up some parameters that are unique to the switch. That would require your time to config them.

There is no way to copy the config from one switch to another one. You cannot merge backups of different models to the switches.
