Access to VIGI NVR from the Internet via browser? 2FA challenge?
We are currently evaluating multiple surveillance systems to replace - in the space of six to twelve months - our current Hikvision setup. As we are already on the OMADA system, TP-Link is included in this evaluation.
We have not been able to ascertain if we can provide outside (internet) access to the NVR, so an external security service can monitor the video streams via browser login. I have found the option to share only via the VIGI app.
Could you please advise if there is such a browser access option already today or if the new Vigi Video Management System will include such an option, ie sharing of the NVR via the Internet and browser (without management of the devices).
As per their security protocols, our security monitoring service can be issued a tp-link ID, but they cannot install third-party software on their systems due to security concerns.
From our side, a desired feature to reduce the chance of unauthorized access when sharing via the Internet would be 2FA, ie logging into the NVR would only occur after confirming an email, authenticator, or SMS challenge.
If and when the new VMS is an option, could you also advise if TP-Link foresees to offer a dedicated controller on which the VMS is running so as to negate the need for a Windows 11 installation?
