Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: 1.31.3 Build 20240620 Rel.80383

Hello,

Just bought an Omada setup for home use; ER605 Router, OC200, 2x EAP650 and one SG2428P v5.30.

Can you use the Client list option Fix IP address to select a different VLAN and IP address on that VLAN? I've tried it several times, but can't get it to work. It works for fixing IP addresses on the VLAN the connection is already on, but if I attempt to connect a wired client (default Secure LAN) to the IoT VLAN It doens't change the IP. Tried a client from the secure LAN wifi too, couldn't make that shift to the IoT network.

Am I misunderstanding this?

Hi  @Zamzoo

You can add the switch ports to the same VLAN as the wireless network.

To do this, just apply the corresponding Profile to the switch ports that you are going to plug the IoT devices.

After that, the wired IOT devices will be able to communicate with the wireless IoT devices.

Hi  @Zamzoo

You should first choose the corresponding VLAN network and input an IP address belong to it:

  @Vincent-TP

Hi there,

Yes, I assumed that was the case, but it didn't change anything. even after rebooting the client, controller etc several times and trying with different clients.

Fixed IP works fine without the Network selection, but as soon as I try to adjust that, the IP address doesn't change.

Hi  @Zamzoo

One SSID can only belong to one VLAN, the client is connecting to one certain VLAN, we can't change the VLAN here.

To do this, you should first connect the client to the desired network.

@Vincent-TP ah that makes sense. Thank you.

how do you do it with wired clients?

I have some wired IoT devices I wish to communicate only with the wireless IoT devices and the internet.

OK, thank you. I’m now wondering what is the purpose of the network selection option in Fixed IP then?

Hi  @Zamzoo

Some clients may belong to different VLANs, and this configuration provides a switching option.
