I have a small business setup with ER605, OC200, SG2008P switch and 2x EPA653 and 1x EAP670 ( AP is running in POE). The setup is occupied with 42 clients. Im consistently having 40-60 latency (which i dont understand either why im having high ping), Whenever the ping dived to 1ms, my client will experienced random disconnected for 20mins without internet access. could someone shed some light?

What steps have you tried to diagnose this to rule out it from an issue of your ISP?

As for the router, it basically never should experience a problem with the latency unless there is a fluctuation with your physical fiber and Ethernet line, and ISP server.

Once the router is connected firmly by the cables, all the latency surges should be the ISP router.

Troubleshooting Techniques for Laymen

Start with the most basic stuff.

If this is not affecting your daily operation, it should be normal network fluctuation. You should identify this with your ISP first by ping tools and related stuff.
