Firmware Version: 1.0.0 Build 20230616 Rel.34312

Hello

I just (Dec 27 2025) purchased this switch on Amazon. The label clearly states it is hardware version 7.6 but the firmware loaded in it is designated as version 7.0. The download page from TP-Link shows firmware for 7.6 on the page but the file downloaded is named TL-SG1016DE(UN) 7.0_1.0.0 Build 20230616.zip. When checking the hardware version 7.0 file it is named the same and appears identical. I have loaded both versions and the behavior documented below is the same..

When I tried to configure VLAN the settings don't stick (enable) and the port settings reset after clicking apply. For example, selecting Enable on the 802.1Q page and clicking apply elicits an "Operation Successful" text message in red posted directly on the page above the radio buttons. But then trying to set a port to tagged or untagged and clicking add/modify resets the page.

I've sent the same questions to official tech support but hoped this forum would have insight.

Label

TL-SG1016DE UN/7.6

SN: Y254101000688

Regards

Chris

Hi @Clarocque,

Version 7.0 and 7.6 are the same.  See this KB for details: https://community.tp-link.com/en/business/kb/detail/412652

Regarding your other issue, maybe post some screen shots of what's happening.  Maybe it's just an invalid config and it's not saving.  I had a SG1024DE years ago and was able to set up VLANS, but the UI did have some glitches like the VLAN name got deleted every time I edited it.
