I run Windows 10 and have a TPlink router model Archer 7 AC 1750(V4).
When I enter my routers homepage by typing http://tplinkwifi.net or 192.168.0.1 I get to a page without the http:// in front of the address(this http://tplinkwifi.net/webpages/login.html or this http://192.168.0.1/webpages/login.html), and several browsers tell me that it is not safe, so I should not write any personal information.
Therefore I don´t know if I should enter my routers homepage or not, because if I login, anybody will be able to see the login informations I guess, since there is no encryption.
So what do I do?
Is my routers homepage not safe?
I really hope somebody can help me here.

Also i can´t even see my profile here on the forumpage, because i am told that "
Max E Mice
, you do not have permission to access this page. This could be due to one of several reasons:
[*]Your user account may not have sufficient privileges to access this page. Are you trying to edit someone else's post, access administrative features or some other privileged system?
[*]If you are trying to post, the administrator may have disabled your account, or it may be awaiting activation."
Weird thing is i am able to edit my profile, but not to view it.
So all in all, I haven´t got the best impression of TPlink so far.

I think the browsers tell you it's not safe because it's not HTTPS website, but it's ok. When access to the router's management page, data transfer only within the LAN. It would not expose to the Internet due to NAT, so data is unreachable for attackers and they cannot forge an http server in the LAN to do any harm neither. All in all, it’s safe to visit the management interface of the router.

Hi uutommi. Thanks for answering.
But is it still safe even now, after I have set up the network and want to go check things on the page http://tplinkwifi.net/webpages/login.html?
Because if I put http://tplinkwifi.net/webpages/login.html in the address field it takes me to tplinkwifi.net/webpages/login.html, without any http:// in front, is that normal?
It does so in every browser I have tried.
P.S.: Good thing is, now I can see my profile here on the forum :)

Yes, it's normal, the browser will hide http:// automatically if the website is a http website. When there is a website without
http://, you can copy the address in the address bar, and paste it somewhere, you will see the address has
http://. And you can access to the router's setup page just by entering tplinkwifi.net in the address bar.
