How far is the adapter from your router? Any obstacles between them? Do you have the same problem on other wireless clients? Have you tried unplug the adapter and connect it back?

Thanks for your reply. I have tried move the PC closer to my router, but that does not make too much difference. I have a laptop in the other room and it works fine. I even tried to bring the laptop the same place with my PC to have a test. The laptop is working fine.

T
he signal strength can be influenced by a number of things. Here are some suggestions for you.
try to change the channel to 6(you may also try 1 or 11)on your wireless router.
Upgrade the latest driver for the adapter.
Also change the place of your router and PC in order to get a better signal strength. If there is microwave oven or cordless phone,*move it away.

hi , everyboby
perhaps I have the same problem or appears to be related.
Switched yesterday from a Netgear wn111v2 to TL-WN822N ;
My AP reported (with netSurveyor on windows7 and iw command on opensuse) a signal strength of -64 db with netger e -76 db with tp-link adapter.
Also, all other networks are reported with a lower signal strength.
Against this value , speed appears higher a more stable.
TL-WN822N fails to compute signal strength ?

Hi :)
I'm having a really annoying ongoing problem with my TL-WN822N (Ver.2) on my W7 PC, which quite frankly makes me want to chuck it out of the window! When I'm typing - in any program or on any website - my connection randomly drops. I have to assume that there's a keyboard shortcut which makes the thing disconnect, but I have no idea how to find out. It could be disconnecting for some other reason, but either way it's irritating! It stops me in my tracks when I'm working and I have to keep clicking troubleshoot to re-connect (which states that the connection was manually disconnected). I would be so grateful if someone could tell me where I'm going wrong, as this is quite literally driving me nuts. Apologies if this is rambling or if I'm basically being thick. Thank you for any help you may be able to offer! Best regards.

I have exactly this problem with TL-WN822N, my wireless connection to the router drops out frequently. Troubleshoot fixes it and reports that the connection was manually disconnected. I've looked in many places online and tried all the suggestions but to no avail, please help!

It is a really annoying problem indeed. Sometimes, a chipmaker's driver can be helpful. Your guys may give a try.
