Hi Kevin, some feedback after the firmware mail.

I did not succeed installing the new firmware, I was in contact with your chatt support but was not able to make the upgrade anyway. Mayby I´m stupid.

The status of the network after the latest restart is that it does not lose connections as before but the performance is no good. I have a fiber connection with a 250/100 Mbit/s service. Conected with a networkcable to the fiberconverter a get 241 Mbit/s down and 96,1 Mbit/s up. Sitting 2 meters from the main Deco M5 router using wifi I get 45,8 down and 79,5 up! I`m alone on the network. I used Speedtest to test the network.

Do you think this OK? I don´t.

Regards

Also, using the test functions in the app connecting to the same server says the wifi network is 235.1 Mbit/s down and 94.6 Mbit/s up?? Your app test says it´s based on Speedtest, using a local Swedish mesurment service also gives the result of 49,98 Mbit/s down and 63,88 Mbit/s up.

I'm running 1.3.0 now. Off the bat it looks better.

however i concur with the other users finding that throughput is bad.

i'm getting only 60-80mb out of a 1G line.

This is with all features off (no fast roaming, beamforming , etc)

will test and report back

Although the change log doesnt state any related fixes .. the dropouts are less frequent

The authentication problem is still around but isnt as bad as having to reboot the device to get on. Sometimes just toggling wifi on off or forgetting and resigning on

The slow throughput is evident on all features off. I'm trying with fast roaming and beamforming on now..

But it doesnt look like it helps. I'm sitting right beside a satelitte deco and only getting 30mb down/ 400 up - wired backhaul , 1gb access.

For those who were as frustrated as me on the dropouts on 1.2.8 , this is more definitely more livable with.  I dont have to deal with multiple device reboots (yet???)

What I do like with this firmware is that I can see which devices are connected to which Deco.

Hi Kevin,
I installed the debug software and until now (since 24 hours) it seems to work properly. No dropouts, reliable and stable connexion for the moment. I hope it lasts lol

Yesterday, I put in a request for the new 1.30 firmware version with TP-Link support and coincidentally when I checked for a firmware update via my Android app last night, version 1.30 was available to download and install.

I updated my firmware to V1.30 and it seems to be running OK.

I think the speed is still lower than I would expect.

The feature that shows you which device is connected to which Deco disc is useful (together with the up and down speeds for each device).

What would be even more useful would be to display the signal strength for each device as well as the up and down speeds for each device.

A device may be idle with little or no network traffic so it is hard to judge the connection quality for the device.

Best regards,

Tony
