I bought a new TP-Link AC1200 Wi-Fi Range Extender for my bedroom, which is just 3-4 meters from the main home router with just a tiny wall between the two devices. I use the TP-Link AC1200 for the Ethernet port on it, in fact, I don't need the WiFi repeater, but only the Ethernet port in my bedroom. With the control panel I've disabled the WiFi repeating and I was able to test the Ethernet connection with my Mac and PS4. The TP-Link AC1200 often lose the signal of the 5 GHz network and frequently loose the signal completely (remains only the power led on it). I don't know why, because its very close to the main router in the house and other WiFi devices never lose the signal in my bedroom. What sould I do?

Hi,

What is the model number of your range extender?

Besides, it is suggested to troubleshoot and narrow down the root cause as below instruction: https://www.tp-link.com/en/support/faq/2233/

Meanwhile, we need get some details: like the light status, the stability of the wired connection, whether you can get internet from the main router when the extender stops working?What is the IP/default gateway you obtained at that time and so on.

@PEVO If you brought a new wifi extender or you are looking the installations and setup solutions. then you are in better place i have have website thayt contains the step of installtions and i have uploded many blogs on Netgear wifi extender setup solutions. I am sure it will be very useful for you
