Model: Archer C3150
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version:

I've been using Archer C3150 v1 for about 1,5 years now, and I've read a lot of good reviews on its wave 2 model. It looks it's faster, more reliable (mine frequently gets stuck with 1 Gbps link), the FW has some extra features and so on. I've been then wondering if it's worth considering a change - can anyone advise?

What troubles me with v1 is that the FW has not been updated since mid-2016 (and I don't accept the sheer fact this model is discontinued as an excuse), and I have certain issues with it (e.g. DHCP malfunctions) that won't apparently be fixed. I can live with them, but if possible to live without them with v2, then... wink

Hello, compared to C3150 v1, V2 has more new features, for example, it can be controlled by Tether app remotely, and it supports VPN and access point mode. etc.

as my knowledge, the C3150 v2 will be better than V1, while it is hard to guranteee the speed which is affected a lot by the actual network environment.

Wish it works.

If your current router is doing everything you need without issue and you do not need the additional functions then I would not upgrade. If you do decide to get a V2, then get it from a place that allows returns in case the V2 does not solve the DHCP issue.
