Model: Archer C7
Hardware Version: V5
Firmware Version: 1.0.7 Build 20181210

I could only get USB storage to recognize FAT32 with 32GB USB.   It does not see content for exFAT or NTFS so I cannot use larger USB devices.

Is this the expected behavior?

It should see FAT32 drives. I have not seen any limit as to the size of the drive but have seen several report issues with larger drives (above 2TB). If your drive needs a lot of power, you may need to use external power source as indicated in the manual. My C8 will power my WD 500GB drive using the USB 2.0 port.

Hello, generally speaking, the Archer C7 V5 support more than 4TB HDD at present. And it supports NTFS, fat32 and other formats.

What is the capacity of the USB drive? What is the model number of it?

With it plugged into the computer directly, can it be recognized completely?

Besides, it is suggested to format it to NTFS to give it a go and check whether it works; or change another USB drive to do a comparison analysis.

Good day.

Depends on Official instruction, Archer C7 V5 only supports ntfs or fat32. that means the router doesn't support others.

Even though the clients need, the technican wouldn't care about this issue.

Hi,

Archer C7 V5 supports fat32 and ntfs now, for other USB formats, we understand that they are important also, and we do value it,  we will remind our R&D colleagues and they will work on it.

You can keep an eye on it for more updates.

Good day.

Hi Daniel,

I have to say I agree with you, it will take some time to release a firmware.

You can keep an eye on our official website for more updates.

Good day.

Dear Kevin_Z,

Why doesn't support the C7 V5 storage format?

@DanielChen

Good question, but we are not able to tell why it does not support other formats, what we can do now is to remind our R&D team to add the rest.

Wish your kindly understanding.
