Hi,

There is no web UI for Deco unit yet, while our R&D colleagues are working on it and evaluate its feasibility.

Any updates, we will post on the official website, so you can keep an eye on it or the Deco app.

May it help and have a nice day.

Whilst I appreciate your reply, surely it would be a 'good idea' to have a WUI?

I don't have a smart phone or tablet, so unless there is an app for my MacBookPro laptop I can't set up a Deco Mesh system!

No everybody has smartphones and tablets you know!

Ian

Hi,

I see, thanks for your valued reply.

As a workaround, you can borrow a smart phone and install the Deco app to configure it.

After that, you can get internet from it.

For the web UI, per I said, you can keep an eye on the official website.

Good day.

well if you don't have a smartphone then most probably you won't need a mesh network, you wouldn't be running around your home with your MacBook ... get a simple wireless repeater and wireless life will be as good ... mesh primarily handles session handover well and without smartphone, it's not required ... .... cheers

@DGi Like the OP, I want to be able to set up a mesh network using a web-based interface - in my case to fill dead spots caused by house structures. I don't want to use a smart phone to set up & control the network - a PC monitor & keyboard are much easier.

I was led to believe, by "How to log into the web-based interface of my Deco?" (https://www.tp-link.com/uk/support/faq/2641/) that this was possible - but haven't managed it - yet. Just hoping that I haven't wasted £100 - or have to return the kit.

@EmmBee

If you like messing with tuning networking gear configuration ofter, and prefer do that through Web interface, Deco is not the right mesh system for you.

If, on the other hand, you'd rather "configure and forget" and you carry smartphone on you all the time, Deco app on smartphone is OK. I've been somewhat dissapointed Web interface is not available for configuring Deco mesh, but after some time got used to it (to Deco app, I mean).

@Ian_Richardson @EmmBee

Web interface is definitely available for some models of Deco as per the support FAQ. I have Deco M9 Plus v2 and the web interface has been there for the last few firmware revisions (since Nov 2020 for me).

There is Web interface, but you can't configure Deco mesh with it, and this is what OP was asking.
