Hi there,

I just purchased this card and the wireless ability works great; however, whenever my computer tries to come out of hibernation under Windows XP 2002 SP3, the screen is all blank. The only thing I can do is manually shutdown (holding the power button). When I remove the card from the system, hibernation works as expected, so I know there is an issue with the TL-WN861N or the software.

I've also downloaded the V2 driver from the website and it still does not work.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks.

Maybe a compatible issue with motherboard on your PC. Did you ever try a different PC?
Try to manually updatechipmaker's driver first. http://www.wikidevi.com/wiki/TP-LINK_TL-WN861N_v2

Thanks for the suggestions. I tried it on a different PC and I got the same issue.

I've also updated the chipmaker's driver and I am still having the same issue.

Here's a solution. The card came with driver version 7.7.0.329. Starting fresh, I only installed the latest driver for chipset Atheros AR922X version 10.0.0.54 for XP32. Then I installed the Client Utility afterwards. It doesn't work the other way around for some reason. When it asks to install the drivers, just click on "stop installation" or if it asks you to overwrite the newer driver, then decline. Hibernation and Standby works as expected now.

Note: The 7.7.0.329 driver may work if I install it first before the Client Utility, but I don't want to spend anymore time on this...
