Here they are:

TP Link Arher C6 V2 EU firmware 1.3.x

None of them helped to my Arher C6 V2 EU, unfortunately (unable to connect Asus Chromebook on 2.4 GHz)

Unfortunately, after 2 weeks working perfectly, the 2,4GHz stops just now... 😔

I put a weekly reboot and hope it will be enough to never have the 2,4GHz goes down...

If someone have another solution ?

Hi all,

I have two Archer C6 v2.0, bought in April and July 2020. They both had the 2.4 GHz issues, but work fine for 5 months in a row now.

The one bought in April had originally the firmware version 1.2.1 and worked a few month absolutely fine on the 2.4 and 5 GHz WiFi. I then was stupid enough to upgrade the routers firmware through the webinterface (1.2.1 => 1.3.0) and that was when fecal matter hit the fan ...

The issues are known: All my family's 2.4 GHz devices (smartphones, notebooks, smart plugs, IP cameras, tablets, Chromecasts, FireTVs, Kindles etc.) got dropped after something between some minutes and a few hours and were not able to reconnect to the Archer C6. Only solution: Rebooting the C6. I then tried each and every proposed solution I could find incl. all firmware releases up to July 2020 and all kind of beta releases. None of them were able to solve the issues.

Although I've seen the endless discussions here, I bought a second Archer C6 in July 2020 just to make sure everything was related to the router and not my devices. I foolishly hoped to get another Archer C6 with the old firmware, but the new one came with firmware 1.3.0. And had the very same issues. Right out of the box. A brandnew WiFi router with a not working 2.4 GHz WiFi. I mean, how stupid is that?!

After making some tests with old WiFi routers (which were all OK), I made a downgrade from 1.3-whatever release I had on both Archer C6 to firmware 1.2.1, like described here:

https://5tx.de/hardware/tp-link-archer-c6-firmware-downgrade.html

Ever since I've made this downgrade to 1.2.1, everything works fine. Both, the 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz Wifi have good transfer speeds all the time. Both C6 are now up and running since July 2020 and no connected device ever got dropped.

I will never ever change the firmware on the Archer C6 again. And sorry to say that, but I will never ever buy any TP-Link router or other device again.

Cheers

Su

Good news, but IS ire possible to flash the 1.2.1 firmware directly on web interface ?

No, it is not. The only way I was able to flash firmware 1.2.1 over 1.3.x is the way described on the mentioned website. Maybe there are others solutions, but that one worked for me.

Ok so it's really hard to make it... I haven't Ubuntu... I have flashed 1.3.0 on 1.3.6 but the process here is too... But if it works... I will think on it...

@dIaBoLyK

You can set up a tftp server on Windows or iOS too. It does not have to be Ubuntu/Linux. The steps are the same once you have the tftp server running.

I flashed the latest OpenWRT through the web interface. No tftp server needed.
