force device to always connect to a specific deco?
Is there any way to force a device to connect to a specific deco? In my home office I have a TP-Link RE450 extending the Deco's WiFi network, but it always seems to connect to the deco furthest away from it rather (ideally) the one just a few meters away from it in the hallway - or even the (main) deco in the kitchen.

@Backrent You must see something I don't. There's no connection preference in the app at all.
I'm using Deco S4's btw.

@Mike1234 Yeah, it isn't there. They stopped updating my Decos (p7)
Its annoying, guess I should've gotten m5s (they still get updates)

@Backrent Do you have newer decos? That option doesn't exist for the p7s

@Backrent I do not have that option on my Deco x20. Running the latest firmware. What deco model do you have?

I'm running M5's exclusively.
Firmware 1.6.1 Build 20220818 Rel. 36456
Android Deco app ver. 2.14.20
M5's are in access point mode. I'm not sure if that makes a difference.

When will it 1.6.0 be released? I just checked my Deco M5, firmware update is still at version 1.5.3
I last commented on April 2021. While I have already given up on any updates on Mesh toggle, I suddenly realize there are major apps update. Now I am able to consistently see the Mesh Toggle. Here's what I do, if my particular device is connecting to a far Deco, I block and unblock it, letting it to reconnect to a nearer Deco. Once connected, I toggle off the Mesh button.
Deco apps: 3.0.48
M5 firmware: 1.6.1
M3W: 1.0.6

Using deco s4 currently but all units want to connect to the main.
I was hoping to be able to get the units to work as shown on all the packaging:
internet ----> main <---- deco <---- deco
If this is not possible ill just have to take them back and go for something different. The current solution keeps dropping the connection.

If you can take your S4 back - take them back and buy Deco M5 set instead. Deco M5 has firmware 1.6 which will allow you to configure how Deco nodes connect to each other.
