Deco M5 source signal selectable?
Is there an optimize command from the Deco App so that Deco slave units find their best signal source?
Is the signal source for slave decos selectable from the Deco App?

Hello I just added an M5 unit to my existing 3 nodes, the new unit is in the garage, on the other side of the garage wall is the node in the kitchen but its connecting to the node in the living room which is a few rooms away. Can you please get me access to the Beta firmware which allows for network optimization. Many Thanks

I've just installed the beta firmware. It took a bit more time for the whole network to be up, because the farthest unit rebooted twice (probably changing the source signal requires a reboot). It is now using one in the middle as the Source Signal, so I FINALLY have a real Wi-FI Mesh network and everyone's happy.
Kudos to the TP-Link support team, please make this Firmware GA for everyone!

I have five M5s in two adjacent buildings (house and cabin). I emailed the tplink person weeks ago when he/she first asked for beta volunteers but never heard back..
I'm not in a rush since my M5s do seem to choose correctly, but sometimes they change on their own.

@JoaoMarcus how did you get the beta firmware? Did you have to call them? They will not respond to my request for it..

@TP-Link I am requesting a copy of the beta firmware for Deco M5 mentioned in a recent post.
I have 4 deco units in a 2 story house. The Main Deco is near an outside wall, and no matter what configuration I place them in, the other units always connect to Main (even when another slave is directly between them!). Each unit is about 20' to 30' from the others.
Thank you! Dan

@DanKinATX Thought of sharing my experience.
I have 3 USA v1 and 2 UK V2 decos. All deco M5s.
I tried the beta software. Firmware upgrades were easy and I followed their guide. All looked fine initially but got complaints later in the day from Mrs and kids complaining about the speed of internet. I have got BT Fttp 300mbps and deco speed test showed near 300 all the time.
Decided to go back to the original firmware 1.5.1 Build 20201022 Rel. 66804.
But this time accidentally turned the devices on in the order of connection I wanted . That seems to have done the trick. All decos got meshed correctly with the right signal sources . And no longer everyone is trying to connect to the main deco.
Instead of physically turning off and on. A reboot from the app also could do the trick. Just make sure the deco signal source is ready when this boots up .
Hope it helps.

That once finally worked for my M9 after a dozen unsuccessful attempts. Unfortunately the following day I found out that my farthest slave had spontaneously reconnected again to the main device. Then I surrendered.

@TP-Link will this update be available for M4 and M3W?
When will we get an official update for all Decos?
