Just wondering if I'm doing something wrong here, or I have misunderstood the point/reason for this item identification in the App for a Demo M4

I noticed, after setting up, there is an option in the app to add owners, so you can select a particular item on your network, and assign it someone name, so you can see who owns it.

So, as I own all of my products around the home, I created my name as a new owner, and started to add myself as the owner to each of the items.

I managed to set myself as the owner (Belongs To) of 16 items on my network, and then upon editing the next item I got the following error message:

"Unable To Add.  Maximum Number Exceeded"

So seems like 16 is the maximum number of things you can be listed as belonging to you.

Might this be due to me misunderstanding the point of this option?

It it only supposed to be used for, let's say "Personal Devices" such as a Phone or Tablet for example, and not used for things like other smart/wifi home devices you own?

So no one is supposed to have more than 16 devices?

Interested to know the idea behind this, and if I've misunderstood this feature.

Thanks.

@SnaffyNoo

Hello, this "Belongs To" feature is related to the parental control. Like a shortcut to add specific device under a parental control list.

Below is the instruction to set it up.

https://www.tp-link.com/support/faq/1598/

For now, up to 16 clients can be added into a profile, and 16 profiles can be added in total.

You may misunderstand the owner account, you can read https://www.tp-link.com/support/faq/1444/ to get more details.

May it help.
