Model: Deco M9 Plus
Hardware Version: V20
Firmware Version: Latest

Deco M9+ and the coming X20 provides three mesh networks: WiFi, BLE and ZigBee. Intuitively one should believe HomeKit BLE sensors would improve their range with the Deco system. However, HomeKit uses an Apple proprietary protocol, so this is not obvious, although HomeKit sensors benefit from normal WiFi routers. My experience with HomeKit is that the BLE range will increase with the use of one or more additional HomeKit base units in "Waiting mode", so BLE "daisy chaining" works with expensive Apple devices.

@Buldre

Hello, do you mean bluetooth by saying BLE?

Below is the smart home devices compatibility list supported by Deco M9 plus, which we have confirmed.

https://www.tp-link.com/Deco-M9-Plus/compatibility/

The Deco M9 plus does not support homekit yet.

May it help.

@Kevin_Z

None of these devices appears to use BLE/Bluetooth, although I have not deep dived into all devices' specs. Most devices made for HomeKit seems to use BLE (e.g. Elgato Eve, Fibaro, although WiFi is used too (e.g Netatmo Weather Station). Could you be more specific in your reply?

@Kevin_Z

All WiFi devices for HomeKit will be supported, so do you mean that the Deco has no "app" to let configuration be done from HomeKit, or router data be passed to the HomeKit base station?

My question was if the Bluetooth wireless network set up by the Deco would route BLE traffic between HomeKit devices. Would e.g. a Fibaro Switch be able to transfer its  measurements to an Apple TV and receive control signals the opposite way?

I use Koogeek DW1 door sensors in Homekit but they use BLE and the connection is not stable enough. I have 3 Deco's M9 Plus and would like too use them to strengthen the BLE signal. Thus Homekit support yes please.
