Hi,

I've just bought a TL-WPA281, I want it to provide a poweline connection from my wireless router and a wireless extender t an upstairs room. The router has an ethernet connection into another brand of homeplug connected into the mains - is there any way to get by WPA281 to talk to the other homeplug over the mains, or will I just need to get another compatible TP-Link Powerline adapter?

Thanks,

Andy

The standard of the TL-WPA281 is Homeplug AV.
If the standard of your main homeplug is also Homeplug AV.
Then theoretically they can work together.
You may use the management utility of the main homeplug to add the TP-link one.
You can also try the reverse way. Good luck.

Thanks - I'll try that - otherwise I'll just need to get another TP-Link homeplug.

cheers!

Hi Andy, interested to know whether you've got your WPA281 working with another brand powerline, I've got the same setup but want to check it works before taking it out of the box. Cheers.
