Incorrect DEFAULT IP for TL-WA730RE?
Region : UnitedKingdom
Model : TL-WA830RE
Hardware Version : V1
Firmware Version : unknown
ISP : Sky
Greetings everyone.
Hopefully someone will be able to help in this rather odd fiasco.
I recently purchased the mentioned model of range extender in order to facilitate better coverage in a customers home. Now, currently connecting is all well and good as my customer uses an N-band Sky broadband router which has a WPS button on top of it.
However, out of curiosity due to the fact said customer will be changing provider in the near future, I am hoping someone would be able to help with this. Having tried setting up a connection previously using the Easy Setup utility disk and failing, I thought nothing of it at the time and that it could be down to some form of bad setup on the laptop we were using. However, having switched to a different laptop to try using the setup utility, the same issue occurs.
I am only able to get upto the network test portion of the utility, as every single time it claims that the IP is incorrect. This baffles me as the extender itself was purchase brand new via UK distributor Ebuyer, so it has not been used previously, nor is it a refurb of any kind. The default IP on the bottom of the hardware, as well as the one provided in the utility and the manuel all read "192.168.1.254" - yet when this is inputted, all I receive is an "incorrect IP" message. I have tried the previous default IP of 192.168.0.254 and this also does not bare any fruition.
Is anyone familiar with this problem and able to provide guidance?
As expected I have tried resetting the box and this also has not changed any settings. it seems the default...isn't the default!
As mentioned, the box is certainly fine for now, but in the future due to alot of routers provided by ISP's not having a WPS button, it is not going to be a solution for the future.
Many thanks
