Looking for advice please.

Currently have a  VR900 router and RE650 range extender. There is a delay on Adnroid devices moving around the house and switching from a very weak signal to a strong one.

Is there anything I can do to speed up this switch other than turning off wifi and back on again on my smartphone / tablet.

A secondary question, I also have a RE450 range extender, I am not currently using this because I assume that it would make the delays worse by having three rather than two signals to switch between.

@StefanJ

If you still want to use the VR900, then you can turn off the wifi function, but it still works as a modem router, and then the Deco can work as an access point. Then there will be one main router, which is VR900, no double NAT issue, and devices connect to the VR900/Deco can access each other.

And the Deco series support mesh network in both router mode and ap mode.

Good day.

Hello, you can setup the same network name for the RE650 as the VR900. Strictly speaking, it cannot make the seamless roaming between different APs/Bands, but you can give it a go.

And for the RE450, it is suggested to connect to the VR900 rather than RE650. Cause the performance of the RE450 will be affected a lot.

Good day.

@Kevin_Z thanks.

My original post should probably have been clearer.

I have exactly the same network name for router and both repeated.

Also my question assumed that both repeaters be connected to the router

I see, thanks for your reply. While I'm afraid that there is not much we can do cause the devices does not support Mesh feature now.

FYI, right now we have two mesh network systems, one is Deco, the other is Onemesh. You can order a mesh product to satisfy your needs.

Good day.

@Kevin_Z thanks for your reply.

New to mesh networks. Had a quick read and definitely sounds what I need.

Just one question, will Mesh work well with any modern or are there advantages using a dedicated Mesh modem?

Could I turn WiFi off on the VR900 router and use that as the modem?

Hello, the mesh router can work with modem together. You can order a Mesh product and work with the Archer VR900.

The Archer VR900 can work as a bridge or you can turn off the wifi and use the Mesh router together. Like Deco M5, Deco M9.

Best regards.

@Kevin_Z thanks Kevin.  One last question

I currently have a PC and nas connected to vr900 by network cable. Am I right in assuming they can remain connected to the VR900 if I also connect a m5 to the vr900.?
