Tplink Archer C1200 unable to connect to 5Ghz Network
Hello experts!
I have set up a TPLINK archer c1200 router. I am unable to see 5 GHz network on my mobile phone. I have tested that my phone detects 157 channel on 5 GHz network whereas i can’t set 157 channel on my archer c1200 router.
Secondly, can i install US firmware on EU version?
Thanks

Hello,
Sorry that Archer C1200(EU) only supports band 1 for the 5GHz, which is designed to comply with that of CE regulation.
If your smartphones can only work with 5GHz band 4, you need to get the US version. However, we don't suggest customers upgrade the device firmware across regions and it will be against the warranty, you may kindly wait for the new firmware for your device on the local TP-Link official website of the purchase location for your TP-Link device. A wrong firmware upgrade may damage your router or cause the router to not function properly.
It is suggested to contact your reseller to replace it with a US version if it is still running the TP-Link official firmware.
Hope this makes sense and thanks for your understanding. Have a nice day.

Do not install US firmware on EU version, it may ruin this router.
The Archer C1200 does not support band 4, that is why you cannot set channel as 157.
Good day.
