Firmware Version: 1.0.7

Hi all,

Seems like the traffic monitor in the new AX50 is completely useless.  I saw a review that showed "has a traffic monitor" and it's one of the many reasons i purchased this router.

Does not reflect the traffic of my LAN or WAN in anyway at all.. it's completely broken.  I have no idea what's being monitored.

I've tested this in multiple ways.

Running online speed tests. (about 30M down and 5M up)

Downloading large MP4 files off google web pages (few mintues for about 700MB)

Have Netflix movie running at HD (should at least do about 1-2 Mb i would think)

Watching youtube at 4k

All these things running on different connections (WiFi and Eth) on different devices.

They all show up in the list of monitored devices on the gui.

problem is that the router thinks it's runing anywhere from 10k to 100k TOTAL TRAFFIC ..  up <-> down doesn't seem to make a difference.  Even the individual devicees show almost no aggregate download/upload numbers...

after downloading a 700MB mp4 file.. the gui still reported about 1.8 MB downloaded.. didn't really change.

AND why the heck are these AX not even a selectable option in this forum??  I think i made the wrong choice in router manufacture if this is no support

Agreed the traffic monitoring is pretty useless. This is one of the main reasons I bought a AX50. Will there be a fix for this?

Mine's way to low too, it somehow only counts a few megabytes when in actuallity i've transfered almost a gigabyte.

@PiscoSour and @DJ4566, After being in contact with tp-link techsupport iv'e found out that for Traffic Monitor to function properly you have to have either set QoS to something other than Standard or set at least one client as High Priority.

@PiscoSour Agree. I'm seeing the same problem. Information in the Traffic Monitor is useless.

Firmware 1.0.9,

Hardware Version: Archer AX50 v1.0

TP Link. Please fix!

@PiscoSour Is it possible that the traffic monitor is measuring packets instead of bytes? That would be a factor of 1000 0r 1500. Just a thought.

Same issue here, the traffic monitor simple doesn`t work.

Device priority show all my device with data volumen above 1GB but the total data volumen on Traffic Monitor is on M .

As so many other, the traffic monitor was the reason I bought this router.

So far the QoS and Traffic monitor is broken and it seem this router is not getting support from Tplink.

I had the same problem, but this fixed it for me. Router already runs really hot and CPU usage higher with QoS on so I'd prefer not, but I guesss that's a separate issue.

I can confirm that after change the App priority to other than standar or the activation of device priority on one device the traffic monitor start working ok. The problem is that all connections are throttled at 250Mbps (wifi and lan), I have a giga internet connection so throttling doesn't make sense to me. I router temperature is not a trigger for any problem from my point of view, board circuit are design to work on a temperatura range. If it´s "hot" to the hand doesn´t mean that is working wrong (I´m electronic engineer). Again the problem here is the firmware behavior that is clear doesn´t make sense.
