Archer MR600(EU) V1 - BETA Firmware - Allowing selection of 4G+bands for Archer MR600 manually
Hi all,
Following the long thread on the same subject discssing the BETA FW, as I said I would, TPLink have given me permission to share the FW download llink.
From TPLink - We recently released a beta firmware for Archer MR600(EU) V1 which can allow us to select 4G+bands for Archer MR600 manually.
https://static.tp-link.com/2020/202004/20200420/Archer_MR600v1_1.1.0_0.9.1_[200417-rel75138]_up_boot_2020-04-20_08.44.31.zip
For Archer MR600, if you want to use its 4G+network, your SIM card should support the CA bands group Archer MR400 supports. Please check the attached picture and check if your SIM card supports the band groups on the list or not.
They asked me to state that, this BETA FW is for the Archer MR600(EU) V1 ONLY!
Neither TPLink nor me take any respnsbility if you flash a none-EU router.

@Robynbra thank you for your help. But if I select Band 20 and I don't have Band 20 in the antenna near to me how it can work? :D
If I use 20 and 1 it connects only to 1.
The problem is that actually I have Bands 1 and 3 and they don't work together. My smartphone connects to 4G+ with these two bands, the MR600 connects only to 1 or only to 3.

I wrote to the support via email, it is useless to waste time on an unmonitored forum.
If they don't reply in time, I will return the modem to Amazon and take a Huawei model.
I paid 180 euros for MR600 + Mesh kits when at 100 euros I could have purchased a Huawei with the same characteristics that allows you to join bands 1 and 3 (according to what reported in the reviews).
I had chosen TP-Link because I was satisfied with other devices in the house but I obviously made a wrong choice.

@Piersandro I do understand your frustration with the lack of carrier aggregation on bands 1+3. A hardware choice has been made, and this combination isn't available. For sure, most users won't understand these nuances and will not understand why the router is not performing as they hoped.
I have been running the MR600 for a few weeks now on the beta firmware and have found it to be faultless. I get 4G+ on bands 3+20 and have never needed to restart the router.
I have also been testing a Huawei B535 - and you're correct that this supports bands 1+3 - but for me I have found it to provide inferior performance on bands 3+20, and it is is incredibly fussy about positioning.
Getting a good 4G signal is not easy. Some people have more luck with the B535 and some with the MR600. Forums show that people have problems with both and it really seems to be the case that trial and error is involved. Those with good ADSL and fibre connections don't know how lucky they are!
Good luck in finding a solution 😀

@dgr1 so the missing 1/3 aggregation is it an hardware problem and cannot be corrected via a new firmware upgrade?
This is a very bad news.
