Archer MR600(EU) V1 - BETA Firmware - Allowing selection of 4G+bands for Archer MR600 manually
Hi all,
Following the long thread on the same subject discssing the BETA FW, as I said I would, TPLink have given me permission to share the FW download llink.
From TPLink - We recently released a beta firmware for Archer MR600(EU) V1 which can allow us to select 4G+bands for Archer MR600 manually.
https://static.tp-link.com/2020/202004/20200420/Archer_MR600v1_1.1.0_0.9.1_[200417-rel75138]_up_boot_2020-04-20_08.44.31.zip
For Archer MR600, if you want to use its 4G+network, your SIM card should support the CA bands group Archer MR400 supports. Please check the attached picture and check if your SIM card supports the band groups on the list or not.
They asked me to state that, this BETA FW is for the Archer MR600(EU) V1 ONLY!
Neither TPLink nor me take any respnsbility if you flash a none-EU router.

@mallipoo Ya mine too similar issue, wanted a temporary and movable setup, since covid had moved back to native. Earlier i was using Jio Fibre in bengaluru. dint had an issue for a day. In native local Service providers who takes up the deposit and with hefty tariffs and i heard not reliable service. So taught of relying on 4g. Earlier i took up the DLINK 920 router, it was worse and frequent disconnection, surprisingly it died in 15 days. now to claim warranty i have to visit bengaluru, Felt its unreliable and looked at the top of the line MR600. though without CA i am seeing a bump in speeds then mobile hotspot and a stable connection especially needed during Teams Call (thats the one which was bothering me earlier). This LPDA antenna bring much more solid connectivity thats what i hope far. you have spent pretty much on antenna, what i observed is that you got LMR400 and you cut it by 5mts. do you have necessary tools to put in connectors after crimping? thats what i am setting back then purchasing a direct cable without connectors. second point is you are keeping router on terrace, how come you are passing internet to ground floor? is it by LAN cable with repeaters or wifi extenders? the post box case i wonder if it protects from temperatures or harsh weather condition? i would advise not to keep router there!

@AkashDev I live in the 10th floor. I have a balcony - no terrace.Antenna is fixed in a pole right in balcony area.
You can easily connect SMA connector provided you have a soldering iron. If you have hot air gun + shrink tubes, then you get a professional look/assured proper fitment. But minimum is a soldering iron requirement with a temp reaching atleast 300 degree Celcius.
Yes, I have all the tools and accessories required as I have a serious hobby in electronics and carpentry. I can guide you if you would need help.

@mallipoo be careful of signal loss due to badly crimped connector. So a connector crimped without a crimping tool is good but not the best.

@Abhi093 Noted and thanks. I take your point.
I have confidence in my work - where I believe I out do full time techies. This antenna thingy is too small for me compared to certain IoT things I do, where micro errors matter.

@darant There are varius dealers by Synergy is very resonable compared to others . You can try with one antenna also . keep the external connectoer to the left side input and keep your default antenna to right side( the input near power button). it works well. I have tested it and didn't find any great reductiion in speed or you can find other vendor by searching india mart ,you need to negotiate they will max come around 1000 Rupees(12dBi)

@darant RSRP and SNR value is not that much great to have the drop free voice and video calls over the Teams,Zoom ,Webex,Skype or Avaya Spaces.. In my case I am getting the speed of only 30 to 40 Mbps download and 4 to 9 Mbps upload but my RSRP is -84dBm and SNR is between 17 to 24dB.. with this 3 members are having vconference calls + 4 mobile connections working without any issues. The main thing is improving the RSP( which will increase your speed and quality and SNR for better voice calls).
