Archer MR600(EU) V1 - BETA Firmware - Allowing selection of 4G+bands for Archer MR600 manually
Hi all,
Following the long thread on the same subject discssing the BETA FW, as I said I would, TPLink have given me permission to share the FW download llink.
From TPLink - We recently released a beta firmware for Archer MR600(EU) V1 which can allow us to select 4G+bands for Archer MR600 manually.
https://static.tp-link.com/2020/202004/20200420/Archer_MR600v1_1.1.0_0.9.1_[200417-rel75138]_up_boot_2020-04-20_08.44.31.zip
For Archer MR600, if you want to use its 4G+network, your SIM card should support the CA bands group Archer MR400 supports. Please check the attached picture and check if your SIM card supports the band groups on the list or not.
They asked me to state that, this BETA FW is for the Archer MR600(EU) V1 ONLY!
Neither TPLink nor me take any respnsbility if you flash a none-EU router.

Thanks a lot for this firmware. Problem though is I still have same 30Mbps bandwidth but I haven't used external mimo antenna yet on my mr600. I got to buy it soon. Anyone can recommend me an outdoor antenna? Not the expensive one. Thanks.

@mallipoo i dont understand your request for 40,40 agregation support,Today i mounted external LPDA and tried Airtel multiple Band Agreegations, 3,40 was what i got by default, out of curiosity i tried 40, 40 band selection and to my surprise it worked. i dont understand that people here are asking for 40,40 support and i get that. i see the speed bump then 3,40 agrregation(10mps more), Am staying in tire2 citiy, considering that i believe, speed i see is may be max at my place!

@AkashDev it's 40C (2300+2300,B40C) Contiguous (intraband) carrier aggregation from Airtel available in certain cities.

@AkashDev I believe there is no way to identify it's 40C or 40A+40A without looking at the code. Unless it is explicitly mentioned on the GUI. However since TP Link official Statement confirms that MR600 has no support for 40A+40A yet, so it's 40C that Airtel provides in Some cities. Below is the screen grab of band combinations that MR600 supports. This has been posted earlier also.

I mounted External LPDA, it was not breeze of a task since it doesnt comes with mounting manual or anything, Thanks to @TaZ30 for that youtube link. kept it as a reference. Mounting angle matters. earlier i mounted straight top down dint see much gain, but after mounting +45 and -45, i could see the difference. Seller had shipped mounting setup which had only one U type bracket which made it confusing, since all the youtube videos had two in there setup for each antenna and finally i could figure it out and completed the setup.
Earlier i used to get Something to none with Airtel at home
Now after this Setup
My only concern is after placing Antenna at line of sight of Airtel tower which is around 300 to 400 meters away, i see 50 percent signal strength of band3 and 75 percent for band 40, Does signal strength matters, how can we make it 100? Also SNR i see fluctuating from 8 to 11db, there is clear line of sight to tower, dont know why is the value is less? RSRQ at -14 dbm and RSRP at -53 dbm.
Am glad i took CAT6 device else without career agreegation i would had got around 10+ speed in any of the bands,i get minimum 30 at any given time due to Career agreegation, but upload comes around 2mps, if i agreegate 3,40 i get upload speed of 8mps but download soars down to 20mps. I have planned to change bands when there is a need for better upload, sticking to 40,40 for now.
Now Stable internet due to this antenna at place where 2g competes in speed.what more can be better!!
