Archer MR600(EU) V1 - BETA Firmware - Allowing selection of 4G+bands for Archer MR600 manually
Hi all,
Following the long thread on the same subject discssing the BETA FW, as I said I would, TPLink have given me permission to share the FW download llink.
From TPLink - We recently released a beta firmware for Archer MR600(EU) V1 which can allow us to select 4G+bands for Archer MR600 manually.
https://static.tp-link.com/2020/202004/20200420/Archer_MR600v1_1.1.0_0.9.1_[200417-rel75138]_up_boot_2020-04-20_08.44.31.zip
For Archer MR600, if you want to use its 4G+network, your SIM card should support the CA bands group Archer MR400 supports. Please check the attached picture and check if your SIM card supports the band groups on the list or not.
They asked me to state that, this BETA FW is for the Archer MR600(EU) V1 ONLY!
Neither TPLink nor me take any respnsbility if you flash a none-EU router.

Hi all,
Can anyone help?
I have been reading this specific thread on how to change the bands. I downloaded the BETA FW and installed it.
After the update, I logged in at the routers IP Address and saw "Confidential Only For Test" on the page. And I thought, everything was all good.
Checked Basic > Internet, but the option to change the band is not there. Also in Advanced settings, it is nowhere to be found.
Someone on this thread advised to do a reboot. On my end, the same thing occurs after the reboot. Still no option to change the bands.
I also checked my HW that I have the V1. >> Archer MR600 v1 00000001
My FW after the update >> 1.1.0 0.9.1 v0001.0 Build 200417 Rel.75138n

@mallipoo Thank you for the insight. I basically found out that, when you are in Wireless Router Mode, the option to change the Bands or Band Select does not appear. So you need to change it to 3G/4G Router Mode.
After changing the mode, I locked it to Band 3 (before it was band 1/5). Since this is the best option for my location.
After you have locked your Bands, you can change your settings to Wireless Router Mode again.

@mr100user Hi, Good day,
I have the same query since TP-Link released the V2 of the MR600 router. After that, I have asked several times to TP-Link India support and also asked Flipkart and Amazon MR600 seller about the MR600 version but always getting responses V1 only.
For your information, V1 of the MR600 router does not support the 40A-40A 2CC combination.
In V2, as per the datasheet, it looks 40A-40A is supported but no one knows where is version 2 and in which country TP-Link has released this V2.
My existing MR600 V1 router procured from Amazon India is useless due to this non-support of 40A-40A problem and I am more than happy to use my old Samsung J8 mobile phone instead and it is working great in Mumbai.
As there are huge differences in V1 and V2 with the CA band support combination, I have asked Flipkart and Amazon India to specify the MR600 router version in the product title as V1 or V2, so that buyers can select the actual product while buying this online. But did not get any responses from them.
It looks like no one is interested to sell version 2 of MR600 or they do not have any information about version 2.
TP-Link India's big warehouse located in the Vasai area also does not have any stock of V2 of MR600.
So, you try your good luck on the delivery of MR600 from Flipkart and see what will be delivered V1 or V2 and decide accordingly.
Regards,
Rajiv.

The version we're talking about here is the V1 beta. This ver. it also allows manual band 40.
V2 doesn't exist.

@MarioF Hi, Version 2 information is already published by TP-Link on their own website. Pls visit the below link and check yourself the datasheet as well.
https://www.tp-link.com/in/support/download/archer-mr600/v2/
We all know that MR600 V1 is supports manual Band 40 for operation, we are not talking about manual band 40 support here. This thread/discussion is all about MR600 Carrier aggregation (CA) Band support combinations where this MR600 V1 does not Support 40A-40A 2CA / 2CC combination.
Pls, do not mix-up different parameters of the technical specifications together. See the below screenshot for your kind information.

@Rajiv.R But where is the V2 mr600?

It looks like no one is interested in selling v2 units before they have sold all v1 ones... :)

@Albut Hi, TP-Link only has the answer. Pls Ask TP-Link support about the same.
They have published version 2 of MR600 on their official website, I can download the datasheet as well for V2 but the same is not available in India.
You can see the link in my previous post or click here and select the version from the list.
You can download the Technical datasheet of MR600 for V2 here and for old V1 here, and see the difference in the CA/CC supported band specifications.
