My remarks:

  1. To my best understanding, the punchline command:
    sudo modprobe 88x2bu
    should be made after reboot and disabling the MOK "thing"
    (which appears as blue boot screen and requires password)
  2. I mis-completed this disabling stage and after reboot
    typing it new terminal "sudo modprobe 88x2bu" yielded the following error message"
    modprobe: ERROR: could not insert '88x2bu': Operation not permitted
  3. To fix this I followed @Gourav rawat instructions at https://askubuntu.com/a/1198351/1002426

Logged in to confirm that what MonkeyDLuffy wrote still works and my adapter is working great(alot better than the built in Broadcom based one thats for sure).

Thís worked for me, when installed dkms sudo apt-get install dkms It worked on 20.04 and 22.04 installed on 2021-11-06 Best regard Jans-Ubuntu
