I have the same need. I bought the router just to have this kind of functionality that the smartphone doesn't have.

Please, provide the beta version for band selection also for MR400 in addition to already released beta version for MR600...

I want to say that I just finished a lot of tests on my router with the beta firmware and it works like a charm. This was needed to me becase in my house area I have bands 1, 3, and 20. 1 and 3 are very powerfull for download, but only with band 20 I can have a fair compromise between ping, download and upload speeds that let me do some online videoconference without lag, so it's ok for me to set it manually instead of use it just for few minutes before a switch occurs to another band (usually 1).

Just a thing more: I want to suggest you to add also a "nice to have" more functionality:

1. Possibility to choose also the BTS to connect for, because (I really don't know why) I noticed that the router is always connected to the second BTS closest to me, and not to the first one;
2. Beamforming technology;
