Hi. I want to upgrade my WR841HP and I´m between the Archer C58 and the Archer AX20. I know the C58 will give me the same wifi coverage I have with the WR841HP, but i don´t know if the AX20 will. The AX20 is better than the C58 in almost every other aspect, but the wifi range is very important since I don´t want/can´t use range extenders o acces ponits to expand coverage. Anybody has had the opportunity to test the AX20 range (especially trough brick walls). Thanks

Hello,

The wireless range of the router depends on the actual environment, such as the structure of the house, thickness, and materials of walls, radio interference in the surrounding area, etc. Besides, the performance of the wireless receiver would also affect the range. In other words, we don't think we can give you an accurate distance neither for the C58 or AX20.

For TP-Link 802.11N/802.11AC/802.11AX router, to consider the common indoor environment, the recommend WIFI range is 60feet on 2.4GHz and 45 feet on 5GHz. 5G uses narrower wavelengths that cause more attenuation when broadcast connection through the barriers indoor.

For the new standard 802.11AX router, there are some Wi-Fi technologies equipped with to reduce the interference and increase router’s performance, which will most likely result in a slight increase in wireless range.

The more guide to choose your favored router please use our product selection here: https://www.tp-link.com/en/compare/?typeId=9&productIds=36285%2C24066

There are some tips to improve the wifi range and speed for the after-sale usage: https://www.tp-link.com/support/faq/468/

Hopefully, that answers your question but let us know if you need more details.
