Model: Archer AX3000
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version:

AX Routers Application Requirement/Internet Access Control

When will this orginal feature of older routers be added to the AX (Archer AX10 AX20 AX50 AX1500 AX3000 AX6000 AX11000) routers to allow access control using IP address and port ranges like other routers you sell (block all websites, please choose “IP Address” as Mode, input the target port from 1 to 65535, then click on Save)

Please advise if this feature is NOT going to be supported as its a deciding factor in our future purchases.

Example of the feature here.

@Hermans

Hello, thanks for asking.

As far as I know, there are currently not any plans to add access control using IP and port ranges. But your opinions will surely go to our developers and they may evaluate the feasibility in the future.

Sorry about that.

Hi Kevin_Z, if TP-Link has no plans to add Access control based on ports in new routers then how can we prevent users from circumventing DNS servers. I used to have OPENDNS and CleanBrowsing as our DNS resolvers on my network with Adult and Family filtering DNS IPs configured on my wireless router. I had created firewall rule to block all DNS requests on port 53 to servers except CleanBrowsing DNS. If anyone tried to bypass or circumvent DNS server entries manually on their computer then they would be left out without internet. It was working flawlessly when I had router with old firmware. The option is missing in almost all of the routers with new UI, I may have to install additional hardware firewall to restrict access to users as mentioned which I don't think is economical to everyone.
