I was using the Windows version. EXE Filename properties reports version no 2.2.3149.12. Original zip filename: PowerLineUtility_Win_180816.zip

@bob888

AFAIK the TL-WPA4220 doesn't have an option to disable Power Save. It's possible on the TL-PA4010, not the TL-WPA4220.

Another observation is TP-Link UK do not list earlier firmwares for the TL-WPA4220 v4 on their website, unlike other EU TP-Link websites.

Ok may have a fix/work around ... its been running for almost a week with no drop outs so far.

Its nothing to do with Tp-link and a fed up user came up with a script that pings the default gateway to keep the connection live.

Simply you create a batch file that pings your default gateway every second.

The tidy part is a separate script that just hides the command prompt running the ping command.

Simple walk through on you tube here --> https://youtu.be/Al3kwmfzsOQ  (I should point out its for basic powerline adapaters however I have tried it and so far still working ok).

it does involve a little typing in notepad and would suggest watching the complete video first the go back through following the steps.

I had to interrupt power to the 4220 running older firmware after 6 days.  It was fine up to that point, so the test was inconclusive.

I configured a static IP address on the 4220 to stop it spamming my router's log with DHCP requests every minute.  Then restarted the test.

The 4220 is actually wired via one of its ethernet ports to a device which is left on 24/7 - the  wired device never goes to sleep or switched off.

It's now been running for 12 days without problems so I'm told.  Looks like older 4.0.2 Build 20180308 Rel.37064 firmware has resolved the problem.  I will check everything in 2 days time this coming Friday to confirm.

Update Fri. 30 Oct:   The 4220 running continuously for 14 days.  4220 still broadcasting a Wifi signal.  Problem fixed.

@bob888 I similarly had to interrupt power twice, each before a full week had passed. Frustrating as things were looking good but these interruptions invalidated the test. Your results are encouraging though. If I can reach 7-10 days without incident I then just need to reintroduce the TL-PA4010 to the setup (I'm currently running a Devolo dLan mini 500 as 'master' connection to my router because I wanted to test stability of the WPA4220's on their own).
