Model: TL-WR940N
Hardware Version:
Firmware Version: V6

Hi,

I'm trying to access my router over the Internet, I set up a noip account and logged in through the router but still I'm unable to reach the router. Any suggestions or troubleshooting I can do.

Thanks

@julamee

If you have any intermediate devices before the router (modem, firewall, etc.) they should have the remote port opened as well to be able to connect.

The remote management configuration on your router should look similar:

That's in case all remote devices are allowed to connect to your router.

If you want only a particular device to connect remotely then type its real IP address instead.

Also the port you are using should not duplicate with any other public service in your network (i.e if you have a public WEB server then you should choose a different than port 80).

The Dynamic DNS configuration:

Successful registration of your no-ip.com account is when you see "Success!" in the Connection Status field.

Don't forget to check Enable DDNS checkbox.

Thank you for your reply.

I do not have any intermediate device, only the router.

Remoter management and DDNS configurations.

But still cannot access the router over the Internet.

Try to change the port, for example 8080 and see if that helps.

@Ivaylo

I did that already, I tried 8080 and several others but none worked for me.

Are you sure your ISP is assigning a public IP address to your router?

In case you are not sure, go to a website like "www.ipchicken.com" or similar and then compare the IP address it shows you to the IP address your TL-WR940N shows under "Network" -> "WAN".

So your connection is ethernet cable from your ISP, which goes directly into your router ?

Thank you for your reply.

They're different. What difference does that make?

Under "Network" -> "WAN" does your IP address look like "192.168....."

@julamee

If the two IP addresses are different, then it means the WAN IP address of your router is probably not a public IP address and thus can't be reached from the internet.

Is the Nanostation set up in router mode or bridge mode?

If it's in router mode, can you find out if the Nanostation has a public IP address assigned to it?
