Model: Archer C60
Hardware Version: V3
Firmware Version: 1.1.0

TP-link router (Archer C60) is not connecting to Laptop with Ubuntu 20.04 LTS OS. However, Laptop is able to connect to other brand routers and even to mobile hotspot. Apart from this same laptop is able to connect with the same router through Windows 10 and Ubuntu 16.04 LTS.

On UI screen, I was getting a dialog box saying unable to authorized and same for dmesg. It was trying for three times and it seems router was not responding back after submitting authorization credentials. I missed to collect all specific info otherwise I would have provided here for further debugging. I can't reproduce it as I have switched to Ubunut 18.04 and is working fine at the moment.

Hello, when the Laptop with Ubuntu 20.04 LTS OS tried to connect to the C60 Wi-Fi, is there any error message?

You may try to modify the wireless settings on the C60, such as wireless channel, channel width, security, then try again.

@Kevin_Z Internet is not working for me too in ubuntu 20.04 using TP link router. Internet is working for all other devices. Also, internet is working in ubuntu if we use different router. What's the issue with ubuntu 20.04 and tp link router?

@Deepak_Banka

What is the model number of your TP-Link router? Is it Archer C60 also?

You can try terziyski's suggestions in this thread to check if it helps:

@Kevin_Z

I have Archer C20 router. I tried terziysk suggestions as well but that also doesn't help.

@hmv Using C50 AC1200 and AX10/AX1500. No issues with LM20, which is based on Ubuntu 20.04.
Mind, that Ubuntu 20 uses netplan.io and cloud-init. Maybe your network configuration is based on them.
