Model: Archer C7  
Hardware Version: V2
Firmware Version: 3.15.1 Build 160616 Rel.44182n

Hello,

 

I'm trying to upgrade my Archer c7 (AC1750) to the latest firmware version but regardless of any of the versions i tried (see below) the error I get is:

"Error code: 18005 Upgrade unsuccessfully because the version of the upgraded file was incorrect. Please check the file name."

 

Here are the versions itried to install:

1.Archer C7(EU)_V5_170918

2.Archer C7(US)_V5 200628.zip
3.Archer C7(US)_V5_190726.zip
4.Archer C7(US)_V5_201030.zip

 

Please advise

You can't upgrade with a FW version from another region (i.e can't put US to EU and vice versa).

 

If your router is EU version then the latest FW for you to upgrade is:

https://static.tp-link.com/2018/201806/20180611/Archer%20C7(EU)_V2_180305.zip

As Ivaylo indicated, you can't install a firmware version that has been made for another hardware version of your router model. 

If your C7 is indeed hardware version V2 (like you specified in the message header) then you can only install firmware made for hardware version V2 and not firmware made for V5.
