EAP225 outdoor firmware update
EAP225 outdoor firmware update
Good day,
Today i got a notification for the update of my 2 EAP225 outdoor in a mesh setup. I didn't do the update as i don't know what it is for and i searched the tp link website for information about the firmware update and got nothing.
I hope anyone can give a link to it.
Why the big skip from 1.20.0 to Version 5.0.0?
Thanks in advance 🙂

It looks like my EAP225-OD updated it's firmware automatically at about 10:38am this morning. Currently running version 5.0.0. Seems to be working.

Not update for my 225-outdoor yet.

@totin1227 Now I have upgraded mine so far all 14 EAP225 Outdoor working after several minutes monitoring. I noticeable one of EAP suddent have a very weak signal after upgrade. while the rest are seems to be on its normal status and signal strength.

Release notes would be nice.
Still nothing on the firmware download page

I'm not seeing any updates for my 245's yet. They often lag the 225's a bit.

Yup, did a rolling update with my 2 EAP225's a few hours ago. It went smoothly and they're by far functioning good. Still monitoring for any hiccups.
I hope tp link will release change log soon.

How are all of you getting updates pushed to your devices? Are all of you cloud linked?

Hello,
So far, in my experience, wireless MESH speeds also seem to be improved with the new firmware. I have an EAP225-OD running version 5.0.0 firmware which is wirelessly connected to a hardwired EAP245V3 running the current version (2.21.0) firmware.
Broadband speed testing (I have Gigabit FIOS/FTTH) from my iPhone XSM (associated with the Outdoor AP) has improved from ~140-170 Mbit/sec DL & UL to 190-210 Mbit/sec!
Also, FYI, I found (historically) that the MESH'ed 225OD performs better connected to the 3x3 EAP245V3 versus my prior 2x2 EAP225V3 -- most likely due to reduced conflicts with other clients and MU-MIMO optimizations.
When I first deployed my EAP225-OD some 6 months ago, I was only getting ~100 Mbit/sec DL & UL. But since upgrading from 225's to 245's, MESH'ing with my lesser used AP, and upgrading to the 5.0.0 firmware my speeds have doubled. Fantastic.
